Björn Duling is German patent attorney and qualified as representative before the European Patent Office (EPO), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the Unified Patent Court (UPC).

He became partner of MERH-IP in 2017. He has been working for MERH-IP since 2010, first as patent attorney trainee and after his admission as a patent attorney as an associate.

His activities are focused on drafting and prosecution of German and European patent applications in the fields of communication, information and data processing technology, including coding of audio and video signals, as well as in the fields of electronic components and circuits, technology for mobile information devices, consumer electronics, and physical measurement technology. He also provides legal assistance and technical analysis in invalidation proceedings and infringement matters.

Björn graduated with honors from Technical University of Munich with diploma and doctoral degree in physics. Prior to starting his patent attorney training, Björn worked as a scientific research associate at Technical University of Munich where he participated in several international research projects and investigated the behavior of elementary particles at high energies.
