Timo is a partner of MERH-IP. He is qualified as German and European patent attorney as well as European trademark and design attorney.

Timo became partner of MERH-IP in 2016. He works for MERH-IP since 2009, first, as patent attorney trainee and, after his admission as a patent attorney, as an associate.

His activities are focusing on drafting and prosecution of German and European patent applications in the fields of electrical and mechanical engineering, particularly including mechanical, automotive, transportation and aerospace engineering as well as energy and heating systems and emerging technologies in the areas of micro- and nanotechnology.

His practice also covers opposition and nullity proceedings and infringement matters as well as trademarks and design patents.

Timo earned a master’s degree in aeronautics and space technology with a focus on thermodynamics and light weight construction from the Technical University Munich. During his studies, Timo participated in various scientific projects, such as combustion-dedicated research, development of emergency algorithms for unmanned spacecraft, solar-powered desalination plants and solid-oxide fuel cells.

He worked for Airbus S.A.S. in Toulouse in the A380 airplane project where he was part of the planning and coordination team during the A380 prototype assembly.

Timo was awarded a doctorate for his research work at the ETH Zurich (ETHZ) University in the field of thermodynamic and electrical phenomena in micro and nano scale materials, such as carbon nanotubes and graphene, and their integration into electro-mechanical systems.

Before joining MERH-IP, Timo worked as a senior scientist at the Laboratory of Thermodynamics in Emerging Technologies doing research in the field of nano particle fluids and the fabrication of thermally driven electro-mechanical print heads. He also lectured on thermodynamics and energy conversion in micro and nanotechnology.
