Junjiao Ma has been a patent attorney candidate at MERH-IP since November 2025 and is currently pursuing qualification as a German patent attorney and admission as a representative before the European Patent Office.

She studied Electrical and Information Engineering at the University of Duisburg-Essen and then completed her Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology and Technical Computer Science with a focus on automation technology at RWTH Aachen University. In her Master’s thesis (2019), she developed a novel system concept for Laser Powder Bed Fusion at Fraunhofer ILT. Her key responsibilities included designing a reliable system solution integrating CNC and RTC control, developing software for 3D printing using Matlab, and evaluating simulation results.

After completing her studies, she worked for several years in the automotive industry, including positions at dSPACE GmbH and CARIAD SE. As an automotive engineer, she analyzed complex technical systems ranging from vehicle control units to networked powertrain technologies. She later took on the role of Test Manager, where she systematically identified weaknesses in technical systems and developed solution approaches. Since 2021, she has also coordinated the maintenance and further development of the testing environment.

Ms. Ma has particular expertise in telecommunications, additive manufacturing of 3D printing processes, hardware-in-the-loop simulation, testing and automation technology, as well as control unit development.
